The Seaborn Jones profiled below is presumably the son of the earlier Seaborn, although I have not researched the name carefully. A Seaborn Jones is listed as one of the first superintendents of Augusta in the 1770s prior to the birth of Seaborn below, and a Seaborn was an early Intendant (Mayor) of Augusta in the early 1800's, probably the father again.
Seaborn Jones, a Representative from Georgia; born in Augusta, Ga., February 1, 1788; attended Princeton College; studied law; by a special act of the legislature was admitted to the bar in 1808; commenced practice in Milledgeville, Ga.. He was one of the shrewdest and most successful lawyers in Georgia, well versed in the pleadings, and managing his cases with an adroitness that often surprised opposing counsel.
