Historical Notes:
The 50th Regiment, Tennessee Infantry was organized at Fort Donelson, Tennessee, in December, 1861. In December, 1863, it totalled 90 men and 52 arms.
In February of 1864 it was consolidate with the 50th Infantry Regiment and the 1st (Colm's) Infantry Battalion. Apparently the 34th (4th Confederate) was originally included in the consolidation, for Lieutenant Colonel Oliver A. Bradshaw of the 34th was sometimes reported as lieutenant colonel of the new organization, and George W. Pease as major. However, this must have been an unofficial consolidation, for the 34th continued its separate existence. The regiment was paroled at Greensboro, North Carolina May 2, 1865 as part of 2nd Consolidated Tennessee Infantry Regiment.
Officers:
Major Stephen H. Colms, of the 1st Battalion, became colonel of the new organization, and Captain George W. Pease of the 50th Regiment lieutenant colonel.
