South Carolina Ordnance Guards (Capt. Dotterer) (Infantry)

Historical Notes:
"The Ordnance Guards was organized on February 22, 1862. Its troops were part of the local defense of Charleston and were employees of foundries and workshops who had been organized under the authority of the governor and Executive Council. The CSR records the following: "We the undersigned Artizans connected with the various workshops, employed in State Service, hereby agree to form ourselves into a company, for the defense of this city, when so ordered, for the term of 12 months, under the name and style of the 'Ordnance Guards'".
