2nd Regiment, New Jersey Cavalry


Historical Notes HISTORICAL NOTES:
The 2nd Regiment, New Jersey Cavalry was organized at Camp parker, Trenton, New Jersey and mustered in August 15, 1863. The National Park Service site states that the predecessor unit was the New Jersey 32nd Infantry Regiment, for which we have no record. It left the state for Washington, D. C., October 5, 1863. It mustered out at Vicksburg, Mississippi, November 1, 1865.

Regiment lost during service 3 Officers and 48 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 190 Enlisted men by disease. Total 241.
