Historical Notes HISTORICAL NOTES:
The Illinois 11th Infantry Regiment (3 months 1861) was organized at Springfield, Ill., and mustered in April 30, 1861, for three months' service by Capt. John Pope, U.S.A. Mustered out July 30, 1861.

The regiment lost 10 by disease during service.
Officers OFFICERS:
Colonel W. H. L. Wallace, Lieutenant Colonel J. Warren Filler of Effingham, and Major Thomas E. G. Ransom of Vandalia ASSIGNMENTS ASSIGNMENTS:
Ordered to Villa Ridge, Ill., May 5, and duty there until June 20, and at Bird's Point, Mo., until July 30. Expedition from Cairo to Little River June 22-23 (Cos. "A" and "B"). Service SERVICE:
