HISTORICAL NOTES:
The Georgia 10th Cavalry Regiment was formed from the 7th Confederate Cavalry and part of the 20th Cavalry Battalion. Companies E, F, and G of the 20th Cavalry Battalion via S.O. #161, A&IGO (11 July 1864), amended by S.O. #254 (25 October 1864) were consolidated with the seven Georgia companies of the 7th Regiment Confederate Cavalry to form the 10th Regiment Georgia Cavalry. Jones' book identifies the merged unit as Millen's Georgia Battalion and as Millen's Partisan Rangers.
