The First Families Project - Georgia - Columbia County

Another community noted on the earliest map of the area dated 1779 shows a settlement called Brandon on "The path from Oakfaskee" at Little Creek. It was established by a group of quakers led by Edmund Grey in 1754. The community did not thrive and the inhabitants removed to Augusta.
