Connecticut 1st Regiment Heavy Artillery



HISTORICAL NOTES: The Connecticut 1st Heavy Artillery Regiment was organized at Washington, D.C., from the 4th Connecticut Infantry, January 2, 1862. The roster of the 4th Infantry contains only 7 names. It mustered out September 25, 1865 and was discharged October 1, 1865 in Hartford, Connecticut.
The 1st Connecticut Heavy Artillery Regiment lost 2 officers and 49 enlisted men killed or mortally wounded and 4 officers and 172 enlisted men to disease during the War.
