George served in the South Carolina 1st Infantry Regiment State Troops, Company I. After the war he married Tilitha Heath (May 9, 1865 - June 20, 1911). He is buried in the Pentecost United Methodist Church Cemetery, Pine Log Road, Beech Island, SC.
