This battalion consolidated with the 2nd Mississippi Cavalry and Alabama Cavalry (Brewer's) Battalion and Co. "K", 2nd Mississippi Infantry Battalion; redesignated 8th Confederate Cavalry (Wade's) Regiment, May 1862.
